Why Us?

Cleveland Area Hospital uses 3D Mammography

for your breast screenings. 3D mammography, also

known as digital breast tomosynthesis, provides

greater accuracy for breast cancer detection,

potentialy at an earlier stage when it is easier to

treat. 3D mammography also reduces callbacks

by up to 40%, sparing you the emotional, practical,

and economic toll of additional testing.

We also offer conveniently close and easy parking,

easy-to-schedule appointments, friendly staff,

and mammography technologists with over

25 years of experience.

What is 3D Mammography?

A 3D mammogram consists of multiple x-ray images of the

breast. These images are displayed as a series of slices that

can be viewed by our technologists as single images or an

interactive animation. 3D mammography is used to

complement our standard 2D digital mammography.

What Can I Expect?

During a mammogram, one of our specially qualified technologists will position the breast in our mammography machine. The unit then uses an x-ray arm to sweep over the breast, taking multiple images in a matter of seconds. Patients typically experience minor, to no discomfort at all.

This process takes 30 minutes or less.

How Do I Prepare for My Appointment?

•Avoid using deodorant, powder, cream, lotion, or perfume under your arms or on your breasts. This could show on your mammogram.

•Wear a two-piece outfit, as your top will be removed. You will be given a gown to wear.

•Try not to schedule during or before your period, as your breasts could be tender.
